It's the people that make the process work.

Continuous Improvement

Studies have shown that systematic problem solving approaches improve solution quality. At JC Livio and Associates, we excel in several improvement methodologies and approaches to continuous process improvement. Here’s a sampling:

 Process Improvement and Management

Business processes, to remain effective, must be fine-tuned or completely redesigned over time. We can help you and your process owners to create, identify, analyze and improve business processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

 LEAN – Six Sigma

Using a paraphrase from Wikipedia, Lean Six Sigma is a synergized managerial concept of Lean and Six Sigma that results in the elimination of the seven kinds of wastes in areas such as transportation, inventory, motion, waiting, overproduction, over-processing, and defects. “LEAN up” your processes to save more time, energy and money by engaging a “black belt” certified professional.

 Toyota Production System

The Toyota Production System (TPS) is an integrated socio-technical system, developed by Toyota. TPS organizes manufacturing and logistics for the automobile manufacturer, including interaction with suppliers and customers. This system can also be used to organize non-automotive socio-technical systems in other business environment.

 Tailored Project Management

At JC Livio and Associates we know that to deliver successful projects, a tailored approach to project management is a must. While some projects need a more structured, traditional approach, other projects are better suited for a more agile and flexible approach. Our coaches and consultants can work with you to select and implement the best approach to complete your project to scope, on time, and on schedule.

 Total Quality Management

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a popular and mature approach that focuses on process improvement, product improvement, and service improvement. These business components are essential for meeting customer expectations and satisfaction. We use a variety of approaches to help you achieve total quality management in your organization.

 Malcolm Baldrige Criteria

The assessment criteria contained in the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) can be instrumental in helping your organizations identify “strength areas” and areas where there are “opportunities to improve”. Even if you are not interested in applying for this prestigious business award, rating your organization against the criteria can be highly illuminating in better understanding how well your organization is really functioning. The criteria addresses several business types to include manufacturing companies, service companies, small businesses, education, healthcare and nonprofits.

Our Continuous Improvement/Process Maturity assessment begins by evaluating the four enterprise capabilities of Leadership, Culture, Expertise and Governance.  We evaluate whether your company has a supportive environment.  We analyze and identify the levels of senior management commitment to changing the business process.  We assess the culture for the levels valuing customers, teamwork, personal accountability, and willingness to change.  We determine the level of knowledge and skill in process redesign; and we evaluate the current change initiative governance process.

The assessment continues with the evaluation of process enablers and how well the process is able to function over time.  We look at the comprehensiveness of process design, the abilities of the people who operate the process, the appointment of top level process owners to oversee the process’s implementation and performance, the match between the organization’s information and management systems and the process’s needs, and the quality of the metrics that the company uses to measure process performance.

The final assessment is delivered through a detailed report that includes a full business case for change supported with a face to face briefing of leadership.

It energizes, focuses and informs you of the path to creating next generation business impact through learning.
